BSc in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará, MSc in Hydraulics and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo, PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Alberta, and postdoc in Environmental Fluid Mechanics from the University of Cambridge. As an engineer and project manager coordinated several master plans and technical projects in the areas of Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation. Currently Associate Professor in the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (DEHA) at UFC, Head of the Water Resources Laboratory (LRH) and Head of the Graduate Program in Civil Engineering: Water Resources, Environmental Sanitation and Geotechnics (POSDEHA). Previous Head of Department and Head of the Undergraduate Program in Civil Engineering. Leader of the CNPq Research Group – Environmental Fluid Mechanics. Also serves as associate editor of national and international journals. Main research interests: Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Hydrology and Water Quality Modelling. Coordinated several national and international research projects that resulted in articles published in specialized journals, book chapters and patents. Received the Best Technical Note Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), was Chair at the Brazilian-German Frontiers of Science and Technology Symposium (CAPES/Alexander von Humboldt Foundation), and organized the event Leakage Detection and Soil-Pipe Interactions in Water Distribution Systems (CNPq/BRICS).
