He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Fortaleza (1988), a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from the Federal University of Ceará (1991) and a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo (2003). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Ceará. His experience is in the area of Civil Engineering, with emphasis on Hydraulics and Hydrology, working mainly on the following topics: computational optimization methods in hydraulic networks, permanent and non-permanent flow in penstocks and channels, use of the genetic algorithm technique, inverse method , hydraulic networks, watersheds and dams.
