Graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Brasília (1986), M.Sc in Civil Engineering – Water Resources – University of New Hampshire (1990) and Ph.D. in Engineering – Drexel University (1994). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Ceará and Researcher 2-C at CNPq. Research in the areas of Numerical Methods Applied to Engineering and in the Hydraulics area of Water Distribution Systems, Sanitary and Sewage Systems, as well as in the Hydrogeology area, working mainly in the following topics: Finite Elements and Elements without mesh, Use of the EPANET and SWMM for Simulation and Hydraulic Modeling of Water Distribution Networks, Sanitary Sewage Networks, Drainage Networks and Underground Water Flow and Contamination of Aquifers
